Wedding color question.?
I am getting married April 7th 2012 and am just starting to plan! I can’t figure out which wedding colors would look best in April in Ohio. I love yellow and gray like this http://stephaniewilliamsphotography.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/jessica_59.jpg but we both love orange like this http://www.hollye.net/vandk17.jpg but i’m worried it might look too fall-ish. We are getting married in a building in the city with a loft feel to it. It has brick walls and huge floor to ceiling windows with green trim. Do people usually pick colors based off the venue? Or does it not matter…Suggestions?
With an urban venue, I think that the grey and yellow color scheme is perfect!! I think that the grey and yellow gives a modern, chic, classy vibe – just like your reception space. I don’t think that the green trim is a problem. After all, yellow flowers have green stems, right?
You need to pick colors based on what YOU and your partner like. Do you really want to look back on your photos and say "Oh, I wish I had picked a different color"? Pick what you like best because it’s your day!
In the second picture, you’ll notice that all of those girls are tan with brown hair. That’s why orange looks good on them. Would orange look good on all of your bridesmaids?
Definitely consider your venue when choosing your colors. I am planning to get married in the fall in a garden with violet and champagne as my colors. I think since you will be married at a loft, yellow and grey would be very modern and stylish.
I love the yellow and grey, I think they would be a great choice! If you do orange, you can make it look less fall themed by using a brigher shade (not like the autumn-y burnt color) and pair it with something bright, like lime green, teal, or even hints of purple!

Its important to consider your venue when choosing colors, but its not everything. It depends on how much trim there is and what shade green it is, but as long as it doesn’t completely clash, it will be fine. Really, green goes with most color schemes, there is usually always some green in the flowers!
The orange is way better than the gray – and no, that shade of orange is not fall-ish at all.
Don’t match your colour choices to the venue or church decor…
That tangerine colour, paired with hints of green and yellow – totally says spring and HAPPY!
